Isa 54:1 - Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith Jehovah.

The idea for HCRC was born in September 1995 when its founder, Mr. Lin Yi, was hospitalized in Fuzhou, China. While there he was brought face-to-face with the terrible plight of children born with disabilities in China. God put a vision in his heart, but as Lin shared this vision with others, only one couple from America, Johnny and Kathryn Story, joined with him to pray and develop the vision. In October 1998, Dr. Doug Kinne, dean of the health care department of the University of the Nations in Kona, HI, met Lin and caught the vision and saw the big need of his ministry. He made a way for Lin to attend the "Introduction to Children's Social Services (ICSS)" class at the University of the Nations in July, 1999. This class included a 6-month internship at The Little Light House in Tulsa, OK, where he received hands-on training for working with children with various disabilities. He took this knowledge back to China and opened HCRC in October, 2000.
